塩田剛三という人は会った瞬間に目が醒める人
塩田先生の晩年の写真をみると、どれも背筋が正される感覚に襲われます
こういう感覚はそう肖像写真から得られません
そして強い美意識を感じます
スッキリとして、極限まで機能化した流線形の乗り物のような、無駄を一切削ぎ落とした機能美を感じます
つまり塩田先生は余分なもの、雑味を感じさせないんです
それから少しでも動いたら斬られそうな雰囲気をもっています
塩田先生は闘いの場でなくとも水面下で油断していません
撮影させることを許していない、カメラマンを殺す眼をしています
レンズの奥をみる眼です、むしろ向こう側から相手の心の奥の深いところまで洞察しようとしています
カメラを構えた相手と向き合う、それが塩田剛三先生なんですね
相手の本質を覗こうとするレンズがこの場合、逆にそれを見透かされているような状況です
写真を見ても塩田剛三という人間の本質が見えてきません

However, it is a big difference. Kushida Takashi is not aware of possible dangers. He drops
his guard up from his neck.
Takashi Kushida permits that the photographer gets within range of shoot. He does not know what's going on beneath the surface. He just
cares about himself that the photographer takes the picture of.
Lens takes a picture of what is being intended or not.

確かに彼の眼はレンズに向いているんですが、レンズではなく撮られる自分に意識が向いていることがわかるでしょうか
この方には容易に間合いに入れるんですね
レンズは串田先生の心をしっかり写しとっていますが、串田先生はそのことに気づいていません
このように写真というのは時に、意図していないものまで写り込んでしまうことがあります
